Good morning, everyone. I’m Esther. Today, I will be sharing a lesson I learned from the book of Romans chapter 4.
David took Uriah’s wife and sent him to die on the battlefield. Doing this, he broke many of the Ten Commandments. But even so, when David repented, God forgave him. This shows that God is merciful and will forgive you of your sins.
There was this one time, I did not do my homework. I wanted to lie to cover up my sin like David did. But then, I felt guilty and my heart was not at peace. So, I prayed to God to help me and give me the courage to tell the truth.
When I told the truth, though I was scolded by my teacher, I felt at peace and my heart was no longer filled with guilt. After that, I prayed that God would give me the strength to not lie again. This helped me understand how guilty David felt.
I learnt in this story to seek forgiveness after you sin and not do it again. As the saying goes, “Once bitten, twice shy.” After this I really tried not to lie and, if I did, I sought forgiveness.
